Bored?

Do you know
that singing is a fine way to release stress and reduce pain? Try singing when
you really need to use the toilet and its not vacant and then you’ll believe
me. Are you still searching for a hobby nothing is appealing to you, now, what
about if you can sing your heart out, see how well you are doing, simply put
together I mean to simply put
together your own songs, and publish it on the net for free? All this is
possible with OpenSource.

To
get marks for singing with the right tones or the right pitches, try Ultrastar
Deluxe. This light software lets you sing to your favourite songs, compete with
friends to see who sings best, and laugh at how bad you are singing. All you
have to do is download the program, get the song files from a variety of choice
at ww.ultrastarsongs.com and you are good to go. But remember, legally, you
need to own an original copy of the music to legally download it from anywhere.
But what is capitalism without consumers.

Next,
when you feel you have some ideas or the juice flowing, use Audacity to record
your singing and your music and apply effects. Apart from the conventional
functions of such programs, this simple gadget can record sounds in realtime.
Therefore, any sounds that come out of your speakers can be recorded. Well,
that helps you to take the sounds you want and arrange them as you desire. So,
how does the music comes about?

For
beats and drums use WinPdrums. With a range of drum sounds you can choose from
by tapping your keyboard, recording the beats with Audacity has never been
easier when you can just choose any part of the beat you have played and
recorded to arrange those beats in Audacity. With a little creativity, what
seems so hard to be done on a real drum, for a person who does not have any
knowledge in music, can easily be accomplished with this two.

You
do not actually need a band to play various instruments simultaneously since
you can overlay sounds with Audacity. Like a normal electric keyboard, Virtual
Midi Keyboard and KBpiano are good enough to create sounds for your
arrangement. From so many instruments you may apply in your song by tapping on
you computer or notebook keyboard, consider this, no matter how many mistakes
you make you can always choose one best part that you played and use it in your
composition, in your song. This is simply done by choosing stereomix in
Audacity’s recording option.

To
tell you the general truth there are a lot of sound editing and sound
manipulating programs available for free. I would suggest you try your hands on
Soundplant if you would like to play your sound arrangements live and add more
effects to your work. But if you can’t have enough, try these dedicated to
OpenSource websites; www.osalt.com, www.webi.org, www.sourceforge.net.

Like
any other products we students make, it is always a good practice to put aside
our end product for a few days before we listen to it again. And if your work
does not sound silly, or at least too silly, you can publish you work on the
net. With so many file hosting websites on the net such as mediafire.com and
crunchfile.com of which it requires you to tell your audience or your friends
where to download the files, consider hosting it at www.i-bands.net the website where
independent bands and individuals from all over

Malaysia

and the globe are posting
their stuff. Leave you contact address and make more friends or even perhaps
fans if you are that good. All in all, what is the point of all the hard work
if it is not to be shared with everybody?

I
sincerely confess that I have no background in music. But I like to have fun
without spending a cent. I like free meals mind you. But I believe that
creativity should not be limited in any way especially by capitalism. The
grueling experience to come up with an idea and turn that idea into something
good, enjoyable, and entertaining and acceptable is a challenge that makes you
appreciate all the hard brain work put into anything you enjoy in the market.
Yes, I do believe it is a good way to teach and to learn to respect
intellectual property rights because it is fun and it lets you appreciate all
your hard work just to make one good song. Hmm, maybe I could use these stuff
for my class activities.
